About Us

Classes are held at Werrington Leisure Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as at Arthur Mellows Village College in Glinton on Thursdays. The studio has a beautiful maple sprung floor, ceiling to floor mirrors and fixed ballet barres which creates an ideal environment for dance classes.

Classes are available in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Freestyle/Street dance styles. The school offers training for children from 2 years to student level in Imperial Classical Ballet and from 4 years in Tap, Modern and Street Dance. ISTD examinations are taken regularly and the school's results are consistently very good. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in local displays and perform on stage at a local theatre in our school's lively productions. In June 2015 Encore's pupils returned to London to dance in a West End variety show at Her Majesty's Theatre. All teachers and parents were extremely proud of our dancers. We are looking into dates to return once again in 2017.

The school is designed to encourage children to enjoy dancing and music and improve co-ordination and rhythmical experience. There is always a friendly happy atmosphere at the school and the children all enjoy their classes. Through dance they gain confidence and self discipline whilst working towards examinations and performances.

Classes are taught by Mrs. Sally Owen-Correia who holds Associate teaching qualifications with the ISTD and IDTA dance societies and Miss Katie Bratt who holds DDI & DDE qualifications with the ISTD. Sally and Katie are constantly working to further their qualifications and regularly attend courses to keep their work fresh and up to date. Sally has danced professionally for many years and although she still performs occasionally she now devotes her time to her dancing school. Sally likes to encourage her dancers to express themselves through dance and experience all the joys of dance which she has developed through her career.

All teachers are fully insured, fully DBS checked and are First Aid Trained with St John's Ambulance and ISTD.
